Curtis Pritchard has been accused of ‘degrading women’ after cruelly mocking his female Love Island pals.
The ballroom dancer, 25, who shot to fame on the reality show back in 2019, has been hounded online for shaming women he starred with on the ITV series, after a snippet of his upcoming comedy sketch was shared.
He is set to take part in Channel 4’s new show Stand Up and Deliver alongside other celebs as they aim to raise money for cancer charities.
Snippets of his routine went viral on Twitter and he was called out by fans after calling girls on the show ‘b*****s in season’ and compared them to ‘used cars’.
In the ‘comedy’ routine, Curtis seemingly compared his time in the Love Island villa to working in a kennel with dogs.
He says: “Looking back now it reminds me of Love Island because when the dogs are in season they go crazy, there was b*****s running around left, right and centre.
“They were trying to ride each other non-stop, it was wild… [like] dogs marking their territory.”
But fans were having none of it and slammed him for his ‘misogynistic’ comments after the video was shared on social media.
One furious person wrote: “Curtis Pritchard will definitely get away with calling women used cars that he can test drive. Misogyny is something that men will always get away with. Woman are not valued in society. So many excuse this behavior by saying boys will be boys. It’s not okay @CurtisPritchard.”
Another commented: “Curtis Pritchard saying the women of Love Island are like “second hand cars” that the men can “take it for a spin, take it for a test drive and if you don’t like it, you send it back” but saying nothing about the men? Dehumanise women but the men he stays quiet on?”
And a third raged: “Except you’re not making people smile with your sexist and misogynist comments about love island contestants … which you were one of .. you came in as the “nice guy” only couldn’t keep the Act up!!”
In the clip, the reality star also seems to take aim at his ex-girlfriend Maura Higgins.
He suggests she was unfaithful to him during their eight-month romance.
Curtis apparently says he likes to drink a smooth whisky, because it’s “trusting the flavour will never cheat on you…unlike my ex girlfriend”.
Defending his stand-up routine, he told The Sun : “Love Island is in there, absolutely. There was lots of comedy elements in that.
“Comedy’s meant to be edgy, pushing the boundaries and at the end of the day, it’s meant to be just good fun and enjoyment for everyone that’s going to listen.
“That’s the answer I’ll give for that.”
The Mirror has contacted Curtis’ rep for comment.
