Sometimes it doesn’t matter how hard you scrub and buff a mirror, it can always leave frustrating streak marks on the glass.
Techniques to combat the problem range from using vinegar to polishing with newspaper, but one woman has shared her own solution using a product you’ll already have in the bathroom.
TikTok user @Malsabena shared a clip of how it’s done, with the caption: ‘Another cleaning hack for streak free mirrors’, and the video has racked up more than 245,000 views on the social media platform.
All you need to get the job done is a bottle of shampoo, as she squirts some onto a damp cloth before scrubbing the mirror to cover it in soapsuds.
She then runs a squeegee from the top of the mirror to the bottom, leaving it spotless and gleaming without a streak in sight.
The same cloth is then used to achieve similar results on the towel rack, as she adds: “Turn the heater on for amazing smell.”
One viewer commented to ask: “Does this leave any like sticky left overs? Really wanna try it,” and she responded to say: “No it’s super shiny!! I use it on all my reflective/mirror/glass surfaces after I’ve disinfected them all.”
Another replied: “Do you use this on windows too?” and she added: “Yeah but disinfect first because of dust.”
Other people commented to say washing up liquid achieves the same results, as well as suggestions to use Zoflora.
One advised: “Newspaper and white vinegar, or just Windolene if you don’t like the smell of white vinegar. Newspaper works either way.”
And another added: “Bit of window spray and get a pillow case – works like magic.”
