One of the most exciting perks of Hitman 3 is that you can access all content from its direct predecessors. But this time, you’ll also be able to transfer your progression and resume exactly where you left off. The progression transfer process itself is a bit involved, as it requires steps that you must take that are not directly performed in-game, but rather, the official Hitman website. Below we detail everything you need to know to transfer your Hitman 2 progression into Hitman 3.
For more tips and secrets, be sure to read our Hitman 3 walkthrough and guide hub. Otherwise, read on for everything you need to know about transferring your Hitman 2 progress.
How Do I Transfer My Progress?
Transferring your progress is pretty simple. Access the Hitman 3 Progression Carryover website to start the process. There, you’ll be asked to log in to your IOI account, where you’ll confirm the account you’re transferring from and which one you’re transferring to. Once that’s squared away, all you need to do is wait for IO Interactive to confirm the process on their end. If you’re getting impatient, there’s a status page you can constantly refresh to check the transfer’s progress, which might happen to you since the process speed has been experiencing some slowdown for users due to server issues. Regardless, the status page will confirm when everything’s finished.
If you’re looking to carry over your progression, note that you should initiate the transfer before you start playing Hitman 3, as completing the process will wipe any Hitman 3 progress you’ve made beforehand. It’s an easy mistake to make, so be careful!
Lastly, your progression can only be carried over within the same family of platforms. So, for example, if you played Hitman 2 on Xbox One but want to transfer your progression to your copy of Hitman 3 on your brand-new PS5, then you’re out of luck.
For more clarity on which transfers work, look below:
- Hitman 2 (PlayStation Console) to Hitman 3 (PlayStation Console)
- Hitman 2(Xbox Console) to Hitman 3 (Xbox Console)
- Hitman 2 (PC/Steam) to Hitman 3 (PC/Epic)
What Transfers Over?
All of your Hitman 2 progression carries over into Hitman 3. After completing the carryover process, you can start the game with your existing player profile, experience rank, location mastery levels, location mastery unlocks, challenge progress, challenge unlocks, and Elusive Target suits/unlocks. This also includes the progression you’ve made playing Hitman 1 missions in Hitman 2.
Unfortunately, your saved data files will not carry over, so if you’re feeling nostalgic and want to dip into older Hitman missions, then you’ll have to start them from the beginning. Additionally, your Escalation Contracts or Mission Stories progress will also not carry.
Other notable omissions include the ICA Electrocution Phone, which has been removed and isn’t available in Hitman 3, as well as certain rewards tied to Escalations in Hitman GOTY, which will require you to own access to that content within Hitman 3 in order to obtain them.
