Happy New Year!
2020 is finally at an end, and we’re sure many will be glad to see the back of it.
It’s not been the most fun year, and it’s been difficult to go anywhere or do anything for large periods of the year.
However, it’s a new year, and – hopefully – 2021 will be the year when things start to go back to normal as the Covid vaccines continue to be rolled out.
That means planning trips and getaways around the school holiday dates.
Below are the dates for next year’s main end-of-term breaks, as well as the week-long half-term holidays.
For those wanting to plan long weekends and maximise time off work, we also have a list of bank holiday dates in 2021.
2021 school holiday dates
February half-term: Monday February 15 – Friday February 19
Easter holiday: Friday April 2 – Friday April 16
May half-term: Monday May 31 – Friday June 4
Summer holiday: Week beginning Monday July 19 / week beginning Monday July 26 – week beginning Monday August 30 / week beginning Monday September 6
October half-term: Monday October 25 – Friday October 29
Christmas holiday: Week beginning Monday December 20 – week beginning Monday January 3 2022
Remember to check with your child’s school and authority for the exact dates, as some regions do differ when it comes to start and end dates for the summer and Christmas holidays.
Also pupils in Scotland will break up for their summer holidays by Friday June 25, before going back the week beginning Monday August 16.
Meanwhile in Northern Ireland the summer holidays run from the start of July to the beginning of September, but pupils only have one week off at Easter from April 9.
