Most searched-for baby names of 2020 that will prove popular next year

Each year lists of the most popular names from the last 12 months are released, based on name registrations after babies are born.

We recently shared the top baby names for 2020 as revealed by Babycenter, which saw a big change for girls names, with Olivia no longer being the top pick for the first time in years.

However, if you don’t want to wait until the end of 2021 to find out which names were a hit with expectant parents and are proving popular, we might be able to help you out.

That’s because baby name site, Nameberry, have shared a look at their most viewed names of this year.

These are the names parents were searching for the most over the last few months of 2020 and could be an indicator of what’s going to be popular in the new year.

The most-searched-for girls’ name on the list is Luna, closely followed by Maeve, Aurora and Isla.

For the boys, it’s Milo, then Atticus, Asher and Silas.

Other names in the top 10 for the girls include Ava, Eleanor, Ophelia and Eloise.

Similarly, on the boys’ list, there’s Leo, Theodore and Felix.

Namberry also shared their top 100 names noted that this year names with an ‘el’ sound seemed to have garnered popularity for girls.

This included names such as Eliana, Eloise and Ella.

While ‘O’ sounding names were a hit for boys, with Arlo, Leo and Milo in the top 10.
