In a statement posted on the Bad Robot Instagram page, Bad Robot Productions and Katie McGrath and therefore the JJ Abrams Family Foundation announced charitable donations to many organizations.
As a beginner, they're going to donate $ 200,000 to every group - Black Lives Matter LA, Black Futures Lab, Community Alliance, Equal Justice Initiative, and Know Your Rights Camp.
"Enough is enough," the statement began.
"Enough police vandalism. Enormous privilege. Enough polite conversation. Enough white comfort. The centuries-old neglect and abuse of our black brothers and sisters can only be addressed by scalable investment. Corporate and personal philanthropy required to deal with these effects Can never achieve impact. Systemic inequalities, but companies and individuals are capable of doing what they will until our political leaders take the lead, "it continued.
The pledge comes at a time when the US is facing widespread opposition following Floyd's death.
Floyd, age 46, died last week after Derek Chauvin, a white policeman , grabbed him with one knee on his neck, though he repeatedly pleaded, "I can't breathe", and " Please, i can not breathe ". Chauvin was arrested on three counts of murder and manslaughter.
