Every year, in April, the National Film Awards (NFA) are announced and in May the NFA ceremony is held at Vigyan Bhavan (last year was an exception thanks to general elections). However, this year, there are no announcements thus far and no jury meetings thanks to the lockout. Also unlike events at international film festivals like Venice or Cannes, no online viewing has been arranged for the NFA.
The NFA jury was scheduled to satisfy in March, but the
lockout was then announced
Sources tell us that the NFA jury was to satisfy first in
February and watch the films. But it had been then adjourned until the top of
March, and a couple of days before the intended meeting, the lockdown was
announced. There has been no communication since. whilst government offices are
operating with less busyness, and film festivals and award ceremonies have made

Actors and directors say that NFA announcements help films,
especially regional films, when the film doesn't have an enormous star. And in
